A credit union is a non-profit financial cooperative. When a person joins a credit union he or she becomes a member – not a customer. And members – not outside investors – pool their savings to lend money to one another, elect officers (Board of Directors), decide key issues, and provide other services in a cooperative relationship.

What are the benefits of joining a credit union?

  • Personalized service (negotiate price on vehicles, budget seminars, one-on-one financial counseling, consumer guide information, etc.)
  • Generally, an overall lower rate of interest on loans and an overall higher rate of interest on savings and certificates.
  • Federally insured to at least $250,000 (NCUA – National Credit Union Association) and backed by the full faith of the U.S. Government.
  • Not-for-profit and return any excess earnings to members (in the form of dividends, high savings rates, lower loan rates, lower fees and improved services.)
  • Credit unions are member - owned and community - centered –the first and last concern is for the members and their financial needs.

Dynamic Federal Credit Union's field of membership is designated as a community bond as follows:

"The field of membership shall be limited to those having the following common bond:

If you are able to meet the membership criteria outlined above, opening your savings account (principal share) makes you a member and owner of Dynamic FCU. The $5.00 opening deposit is considered your “share” in the credit union. This gives you a voice in the credit union’s decisions and allows you to participate in our cooperative.
